  1. Your tag line reads: “Simple tips to enjoy life.” What are your favorite simple tips for bringing joy into your life?

  2. Thank you, Dani, for kicking us off! :) Some simple things I do to bring joy into my life are: 1) be grateful everyday for what I have, life is richer when you can exhibit gratitude regularly. 2) Take time to really *see* the little things in life. 3) Do what makes you happy – for me that’s spending time with family and helping others. 4) Aim to be deliberate in everything I do.

    Thanks for a great question!

  3. Sherri,

How do you manage 2 blogs and 2 kids? does it get overwhelming? I get overwhelm with 1 blog and 2 kids that seems work of 22 and (show love for 24) :-)

  4. Overwhelmed is an understatement some days! :) I often get asked this question so I’ve had a bit of time to think about this one. How I manage it all is that I’m doing all the things I love to do. None of it is a chore. I love teaching my kids, taking care of them, cooking, cleaning, planning, organizing, helping others and adding value where I can. When it doesn’t feel like work it comes pretty easy and it’s easy to keep up. I do have my days though and that’s usually when it’s quiet around here ;)

  5. Will you share your favorite cookie recipe? If so, what is it?

    What is your favorite color?

Who is your favorite blogger, whose first name is Jay and last name is Schryer?

If you could legally get paid to do anything…anything at all…what would you get paid to do?

What’s the airspeed velocity of an unleaden swallow?

If a train leaves Winnipeg at any time, how long would it be before you came to visit me?

Do you get annoyed when people ask more than one question?

I love your site Sherri! It’s nice to have reminders to live life more purposefully and having fun! So here’s my question… how do you encourage the people around you to see things in the serene and positive light you do? I have some close friends that often focus on the negative and aren’t always receptive to hearing the positive side.
    Any tips?

  7. Oh Jay …. I knew it had to be you! ;) Here we go!
    1) Candy cookies: 1/2 Cup Margarine, 2 Cups sugar, 1/2 Cup milk — Boil rapidly for 2 minutes then add — 2 1/2 Cups Rolled Oats, 1 Cup coconut and 1/2 Cup Cocoa. Take off the heat and drop on cookie sheets by a teaspoon. (Family classic!).
    2) Blue
    3) I’ll have to get back to you on this one there’s just SO many to choose from ;)
    4) Help people find ways to live simpler, happier and clutter free lives and I’d also like to get paid to travel around taking pictures :)
    5) Could you be more specific? Is that African or European? But If I were to wager a guess I would say 10 meters per second.
    6) Couldn’t stand to be on a train that long …. We’ll save up our pennies and fly down to see you one day.
    7) Ummmm….no ;)

    Thanks Jay!

  8. Yay! I’m glad you like it. So how do I encourage people to see the positive in the little things? I think leading by example is the most effective thing you can do. Apart from that I would suggest not feeding into or indulging in the others negative behavior. It’s tough but changing the subject, walking out or even just sitting silently can all be effective at curbing someone’s negativity. Honestly, sometimes people are just oblivious to the fact that they are so negative. If they’re a close friend it may be worth sitting down and having a heart to heart with them or send them some articles from here or other great blogs out there that speak to what you think their issue may be. That’s my two cents worth, hope it helps a bit.

  9. Any advice on decluttering? I really want to declutter and then I look at the all the stuff and become overwhelmed and frozen.
