I seem to be the “weird” one here. To me, if someone said something I was doing was “weird”, I’d be fine with it, but if they said it was “different” I’d feel annoyed at their word choice.

Hi Sherri, thanks for making me smile! Yes, we’re all a little weird! But like you’ve mentioned, that weirdness, or our differences, is what makes us, well… us. And we always seem to notice those differences first, don’t we? They stand out to us and we remember them… maybe it’s supposed to be that way… but rather than immediately judge them, we should learn more to appreciate them!

I must say I have always thought that I was someone really weird. For me weird only means different and as you say, that is the real fun!

When we accept the fact that not everybody think as we do, we can archive true greatness and meet people in the middle, with attention instead of a bias due to how they are.

All the world is filled with different people and that is what makes it so beautiful.

Ahhh Sherri, You’ve found the one true secret of getting along with all of humanity! Once you realize that everyone is weird/crazy (and that you yourself are weird/crazy), then you understand that we’re all really the same…just different And the secret to harmonious relationships (I think) is finding someone who has a particular kind of craziness that matches your own.

You’re absolutely right about this. In the earlier days of our relationship when my American husband first moved to the UK and would tell his friends some of the different things we say or do here, the response would often be, ‘That’s so weird/funny’. It got to be a bit annoying hearing that over and over and felt a bit offensive to me (especially if my husband himself said it!). My husband soon realised that these things were actually just ‘different’ and started using that word which sounded so much better to me.
