Great ideas, Sherri! I have a wonderful recipe for dainty cookies. You really have to be careful with them; they crush so easily.

My big problem with Christmas is that it starts too early. By the time it actually gets here, I’m sick of it.

The open house idea is a perfect way to see lots of people over the busy festive season, whilst being more flexible with everyone’s other engagements. Think we might try that one!

We host something similar to your dainty exchange. We call it a cookie swap. Everyone bakes a couple batches of their favorite cookies, then we all swap. We have a great time getting together, and everyone leaves with a bag full of yummy cookies.

Our holiday tradition is to go to a close by beach on Xmas morning, wearing our warm jackets, hardly anyone is there, and we have whole beach to ourselves. Almost as fun as sleigh ride!!

@ Hayden – OF COURSE they were crustless I say that because I gave my sister a hard time for cutting them off…but they were really good.

@ Jay – Come on you know you want to! It’s not that bad and you can go on sleigh rides all the time

@ Akemi – That’s a great theme for the holidays. There’s so much temptation during the holidays that we can tend to feel heavy, stuffed and just generally not that good. I try to limit what I eat but I simply can’t say no to Christmas pudding.

I’m into starting a new tradition, especially in healthy eating. Holidays don’t have to mean stuffing ourselves with sugary stuffs (cute, sweet, and toxic). We can even do vegetarian holidays, with deep gratitude to the Sun and the Earth.
