Have A Look At What You’ve Been Missing
I love photography. I’m certainly not the best photographer in the world but I enjoy it just the same.
One of my favorite types of photography is macro photography. Getting up close and personal with natures beauty is something I love. There are so many things we over look and never really see until we get right in there. And I mean right in there.
Nature is beautiful. The colors and textures are seemingly endless. They change from day to day, hour to hour, minute to minute.
I thought I would share with you some of my snaps from around the garden this summer. Spend a few seconds really looking at what’s in the photo. What details do you see that you might normally have overlooked?
My son’s foot
Cosmo
Daisy
Ladybug
Spider
Strawberry
Sunflower
Tomato
Spider web
Did you notice the water droplets on the daisy petals?
Did you notice the thorns on the spider’s body?
Did you see the bug on the green top of the strawberry?
There is usually a lot more than meets the eye. For some really great tips on taking pictures of pretty well anything check out Digital Photography School. This is a fantastic site with information on pretty well everything related to photography. It’s definitely worth a look!

These are beautiful, Sherri! Thanks for sharing them!
Wow…these look like something out of a magazine! Great shots…the foot is my fave though! I miss chunky baby feet! 8 year old feet are not as chunky or cute…
WOW. I didn’t notice any of those things the first time I looked… It looks like I need to pay more attention and I love the way you made me think about this. Not only did these pictures help me to be more mindful, but they’re really beautiful as well. I love them!

Ew on the spider, lol. But very nice pictures! I always feel silly taking pictures like that, it takes me *forever* to get one I’m happy with, and plants don’t cooperate with me. I like my cars, but I get frustrated with pics because of all the great photos I see. I wonder if I’ll ever get that good, or get the same sorts of cameras. D:

Sherri, those photos are stunning! They look like professional photos to me! It was a great idea to show us what we might be missing when we look. I had to look with my heart as well as my eyes.
Thank you all for your very kind comments. It is pretty amazing what you see when, like Mary so nicely put it, you look with your heart as well as your eyes.
Oh and Kristen, chunky baby feet are my favorite as well
Sherri,
These are sure very beautiful pictures. I sure missed details like fly on strawberry, I guess I was awed by the beauty and simplicity of pictures.
I think, you may have another side profession as a photographer!!
