10 things I have learned about surviving Motherhood so far… - The Creative Mama
1. MUST make time for yourself in order for you to get your gas tank filled up. Fiercely guard that “YOU” time to make sure you actually do it. You’re no good to anyone if you’re out of gas all the time.
2. MUST be surrounded by a support system (that is only a phone call away) of people who can commiserate, listen, and correct your thinking on those days when you’ve heard so much toddler talk that you can’t think straight.
Dontcha Hate It When … - Domestic Cents
You realize your baby spit up on you after you’re out in public?
You changed your shirt 4 times, but not your bra and everyone is staring?
You’re in the middle of making supper and realize you’re missing a key ingredient?
You have the perfect outfit but no shoes to go with it, or vice-versa?
A Mother’s Day Poem - Writer Dad
If I set out on adventure intent to discover,
the world’s most brilliant and beautiful, beguiling mother,
I’d have to travel the world, search far and wide.
Comb every crevice, from every long side.
I’d inspect all the islands and browse all the beaches,
then follow the coastline as far as it reaches.
I’d forage the forests and climb every tree.
But the best mom I’d find is the one who made me.
To All The Wonder Women In The World - Happy Lotus
I was standing in line recently in the supermarket where I had an interesting realization. The woman in front of me had three children, was dressed in a suit, had a rock of a wedding ring on her hand, she was talking on her mobile phone to her assistant, and doing all of this while unloading her shopping cart. It appeared that her children knew not to talk when their mom was on the phone and they were totally well-behaved. I was impressed by her efficiency.
Powerful Lessons My Mom Did Not Teach Me - Raptitude
My mom left out a few lessons that a lot of other kids got. Certain common habits, I just never developed because nobody taught me. In the last few years I’ve become more and more interested in people, and I pay more attention to passers-by when I’m out and about. One thing that always enthralls me is seeing children learn from their parents. A wide-eyed and curious child, watching his mother’s actions and words, is a powerful sight to behold. It affects me today in ways it never had before. Now that I’m older and firmly in the habit of examining my habits, I can see how crucial those moments are in shaping a kid’s life.
