@ Gary - Absolutely! It can be applied to every part of your house you're right! Even a 5 minute reset at the end of a day can make waking up in the morning a little stressful.

@ Jay - You're welcome. Thanks for sharing your brothers cleaning mantra it made me chuckle! :)

@ David - You're right filling the sink before you start gets rid of that little bit of friction and helps you to get started and just do it. Shining your sink every night might sound a bit odd but it really is a great place to start!

@ Amanda - That's a great way to use/dispose of produce bags AND it saves cleaning a bowl I love it! :)

@ Lisis - That's great I'm glad you do it too and it works really well for you!

@ Mary - "My rebellion against the dishes gets me nowhere!" That's funny! I cringe as well if I see dishes on the counters or in the sink in the morning nothing beats tidying up right away and waking to a clean home.

@ Melanie - Welcome! I'm right there with you with the moldy cheese! Purging the fridge as I go is something I just started doing. It works really well and is a huge time saver when it comes to doing a thorough clean! Thanks for leaving a comment!

Some really great tips here. I do some of them already, but I particularly like the idea of washing up as you go, and also purging the fridge - there's nothing worse than reaching in there only to find a piece of mouldy cheese..yuk!

Thanks for sharing.

I spent so long being OCD back in college that now I'm really averse to the idea of spending any dedicated time on cleaning. So, for me, the clean-as-you-go approach to the kitchen (and the whole house) is a way of life. It really is a major time-saver.

These are great tips. I do many of them myself. One thing I do differently though is number one. Instead of using a bowl for waste, I just use one of my produce bags or a plastic grocery bag to put the garbage in. It actually works really well. This way all I have to do is chunk the bag - one less bowl to wash.
