I know, this blog post is 8 months old but alas, here we are at the happiest gift giving time of year. Just thought I'd share an idea with the mommies on the site. Why not repurpose your changing table as your little ones out grow it? The top is the perfect height for wrapping smaller presents, the area beneath is great for storing rolls of paper or you can use baskets to short folded things. use some shower curtain hooks off the ends to hang bags and if you still have the caddy, it's perfect for scissors, tags and tape..

@ Daphne - Thanks Daphne it makes me happy to hear that you're liking our posts. I'm glad you're tempted to find a spot to make a wrapping station of your own. Remember it doesn't have to be extravagant, costly or take a lot of room it just needs to work. It really does make it easier!

Oh and the favicon...not new but I'm glad you like it ;)

Sherri,

I'm loving your posts here! I also noticed your favicon - either it's new or I didn't notice before. I love it!

Wrapping is something I've always enjoyed and had all the materials for, but never really had a 'station' and your photo of your station made it visually tempting to create one for myself! Great post.

Is it bad that I have a wrapping paper station (well, supplies organized for easy access, simular to your picture in the post)?

I actually have two wrapping paper tube tubs... one is Christmas paper, the other is birthdays and other crap. Then I have gift bags, ribbon and other supplies in flat storage tubs...

Really, I swear I am a straight man. I'm just comfortable in my gift giving and organization standards. Really...... Straight! No kidding.

@ Nadia - That's great I'm glad I've inspired you! Thanks so much for your tip on when to purchase gift wrap and supplies. You can certainly save a lot of money by taking advantage of end of season sales.

@ Amanda - Welcome Amanda! Good to see you here. Yes you are definitely part way there and using the office/sewing room that you're soon to have is an excellent idea! There are even some closet solutions you could look into if you are a little short on space. Thanks for your comment!

I love your wrapping station. Okay, I admit, I'm a little jealous. Yes, I'm the one with the wrapping paper stacked in the closet.

I do at least have a cabinet where I keep my tissue paper, cards and ribbons. I guess I'm at least partly there.

Right now we are in the process of building a new room and I will have an office/sewing room, so maybe, it can also be a gift wrapping room - definitely a good thought.

Thanks for the ideas.

Hi Sherri,

After reading this post, you make me want to go to the new Container Store that they opened in the area! :)

That is a great idea. Here is one tip I have found that is related to wrapping, buy all the wrapping supplies you need the day after a major holiday like Christmas. You can get some really great deals for half the price. The key is to remember to use them the next year but with your system, how can a person forget? :)
