You wrote, "Writing things that are positive, that make me happy and that I’m grateful for helps clarify my priorities and highlights what is truly important to me." I completely agree with this and, in fact, wrote a post on my own blog about a very similar idea this morning.
@ Daphne - I thought it would be important on the bad days but I just didn't realize *how* important. Like I said in the article, when I look for the positive in a negative situation it really helps to snap me out of it a lot quicker. I'm glad you're enjoying reading about my journey here it really is a lot of fun and very interesting.

@ Alger@Common Sense - Welcome and thanks for your comment!

Sherri,

I love reading about your 30 day gratitude journey. You're right that there's so much to be thankful for. Also, I find that on bad days my tendency is to skip journalling so I can mope in peace, and you're so right that ESPECIALLY then the gratitude journal has most power. Thanks for sharing, I'm enjoying following you through these 30 days!

@ Vered - That's great! I'm not disciplined enough yet to keep a mental one. When I go to bed I'm tired but if I see the journal sitting there on the bedside table I feel I have to keep it up. Maybe once it's a habit/second nature it'll be different. It certainly does create a more positive outlook though!

I don't have a written gratitude journal, but I do have a mental one. I count my blessings each and every day - usually at night before I go to sleep. It helps immensely with creating a more positive outlook.

@ Nadia - I do remember and thanks for sharing your experience. That's exactly what I'm finding as well so far. It's getting easier to tease the good/positive things out of negative situations. I'm sure it'll become second nature given enough time.

@ Regina - That's great! I'm glad you're going to start. It's never too late. I'd be interested to hear how you're doing a couple of weeks from now.

@ Steve B - Fantastic! It makes me happy to hear that starting the journal has had a positive impact on your life. I hope you are able to keep it up and I'm really glad you participated.

Hey Sherri

I have been able to keep up with it although there have been a few days where it just did not happen. I have found that it has made me appreciate little things on a daily basis and live my life more in the moment.

There have been days though where it has been a stretch to come up with 5 things...lol. Thankfully those have been in the very small minority.

Sherri,

I missed the original challenge, but this is clearly something I need to start doing. I will ... thanks.
