Financially speaking, that&#039;s not the most optimal path (which is why the advisers were freaking out) but it&#039;s one that led you to have great experiences and memories. And as it turns out...with the stock markets down as low as they are you probably drew your money out at a good point.

		<description>Hey, Gwynn (and Sherri)! So nice to be back on your blog.  I love this list you put together, particularly that last article.

Back in 2004 my husband and I were completely financially irresponsible, cashing out his entire 401K to go spend a year in Costa Rica with no jobs.  All the financial advice we got was that it was a huge mistake because of tax penalties and loss of retirement income. 

We never regretted the decision for a second... we had the BEST year ever. Sometimes you&#039;ve got to go against the grain.
